The Fate of the Furious @ F8 – Movie Review

The Fate of the Furious‘ – the eighth installment of the ‘Fast & Furious’ series has been directed by Gary Gray who has directed some interesting action and heist films like ‘Law Abiding Citizen’ & ‘The Italian Job’.

‌Alike the previous installments in this franchise, ‘F8’ has all that the audience would expect from this series – the larger than life stunts (really larger), the car chases and races in different countries, everything. There is nothing novel about the story, it is the same what Dom & his team has been doing since the last few parts – saving the world from the villain who has a nuclear power in hand that could put the whole world in danger. The only difference in ‘F8’ is that Dominic turns his back on his family (as you can see in the trailer), friends becomes enemies and a few old enemies become friends here.

The logic part goes for a toss much more than the earlier installments – be it a cyber terrorist controlling every system, camera and car all over the globe or Dom racing a nuclear missile in the climax (yes, you read it right ) If you could leave your brain at your home just as you do for any other Hollywood action thriller, ‘F8’ is a highly arousing entertainer. There are some ‘beaten to death’ twists and clichés, yet there are some surprises for the followers of ‘The Fate of the Furious’ series – characters like Owen Shaw, Elena and Rico Santos (who appeared in F5 & F6) are casted in significant cameo appearances.

On the whole, ‘#F8‘ is a high octane action entertainer that doesn’t fail to keep the audience excited till the end.   The film is definitely worth a ride and it is yet another treat for the ‘Fast & Furious’ series lovers.
